ENLIGHTENMENT UNFOLDING
In our welcome page we stated that various sources indicate that there have been more changes in the physical world over the last hundred years than there were in the previous thousand and that there will be exponential changes in the future. Many of these same sources also indicate that the human race has reached the pinnacle of its physical evolution and apart from minor changes in physiology the future changes will be in the expansion of humanities mental faculties including, or especially, those of the mind.
These sources are as wide ranging as Ken Wilber and Deepak Chopra to Neale Donald Walsch and Stanislav Grof and there are many more.
If you Google “Human Spiritual Evolution” you will find over 359,000 results and “Spiritual Evolution of Mankind” produces 339,000 results.

Whilst all of the above is exciting, intriguing, possibly true and even attainable it misses out on the core reason for humanities apparent existence on the surface of this planet.

So our changing world can be described as an illusion, constructed and driven by the ego, that electrical creation of the brain that needs to be in a state of constant stimulation in order to exist. That stimulation includes a readiness for constant fight and flight reactions, the maintenance of various stressors, self argument and constantly chattering to itself, colluding with and supporting the other constant chatterer; its good friend, the mind!
The ego is “happiest” in the realm of cause and effect and is in charge of doing, yet without its constant intrusion, there is still every thing and nothing, Buddha nature, just being. So, egos delight in their activity to maintain themselves and rely on other egos to keep the momentum going, Worldwide!
Yet the ego, in an individual’s deep sleep fades into oblivion and reconstructs itself during the first few minutes of the waking day.
Yes, we do have a changing world, it is one where more and more people are questioning; is this all there is? Who am I really? Religions offer hope and spirituality is poised to deliver that which was offered by the founders of those many religions so many years ago. That is the personal journey to self realisation, awakening or enlightenment.
What will happen when many thousands of us wake up? What will happen when hundreds of thousands awaken to their Buddha nature? Then we will see and then experience the square root of 1% change in the human population that will bring about a paradigm shift in the totality of humanity on this planet.
This may happen in 2012, or it may not. What is important is that we have everything that we need to realise our Buddha nature; we just wake up to it!
